A Chartered Accountant (CA) specialises in financial reporting, statutory financial audits, and direct and indirect taxation. A Company Secretary (CS) specialises in corporate law, governance, secretarial practice, board and general meeting compliance, and regulatory filings with the MCA and SEBI. Most companies need both: the CA handles the financial audit and tax returns; the CS handles corporate law compliance, board procedures, and governance advisory.
